THE HISTORY OF THE SOFINOR GROUP
Since its beginnings in 1960, the men and women of Sofinor have been driven by the same passion for innovation, which over time has become the true DNA of our Group.
From the first kitchen furniture designed in 1961, discover how our history influences our ambitions today.
The Beginnings
The story of SOFINOR begins with a young boy, Jean FINOT, who would take apart and reassemble objects to understand how they worked and dreamed of becoming an inventor. Always with a sheet of paper and a pencil in hand, he designed and built his first kitchen furniture in 1961. As soon as they were displayed in the family hardware store, they were sold.
The Inventions
In 1965, he created “La Mamette,” the first automatic feeder for calves. Over 4,000 were in service worldwide.
Two years later, he invented the Cyclosauna: the infernal slimming machine.
